Model Details
The Magirus MK 130M8 Koffer “Neutral” by Lemke Collection is a highly detailed 1:160 scale N gauge truck model representing one of Europe’s most important medium-duty commercial vehicles of the late 20th century. This precision miniature captures the rugged engineering and functional box-body transport configuration of the legendary Magirus MK series, making it an essential addition for collectors of classic European trucks and model railway logistics vehicles.
Designed for model railway layouts, freight depot dioramas, and diecast truck collections, the Magirus MK 130M8 combines authentic commercial vehicle styling with realistic detailing and accurate proportions. The neutral livery version offers maximum versatility for custom transport scenes, industrial layouts, and period-correct European freight operations from the 1970s through the 1990s.
The original Magirus MK series was introduced in 1975 as part of the groundbreaking “Vierer-Club” (Club of Four) truck development programme involving Magirus-Deutz, Volvo, DAF, and Saviem/Renault. This historic collaboration aimed to standardise cab and chassis components while allowing each manufacturer to maintain its own engines and front-end styling, creating one of Europe’s first major cooperative commercial vehicle projects.

Historical Background
The Magirus MK 130M8 formed part of the influential “Club of Four” truck family launched at the 1975 Brussels Motor Show. The joint development programme between Magirus, Volvo, DAF, and Renault/Saviem was created to reduce production and engineering costs while modernising Europe’s medium-duty truck market.
Powered by reliable air-cooled Deutz diesel engines, Magirus trucks became well known for durability, simple maintenance, and strong performance in freight transport, municipal service, and industrial logistics. The box-body “Koffer” configuration was widely used for protected cargo transport, parcel delivery, and regional distribution operations throughout Europe during the 1970s and 1980s.
Today, the Magirus MK series remains an important symbol of classic European commercial vehicle engineering, making this Lemke MINIS release a standout addition for collectors of historic trucks, transport vehicles, and realistic N gauge logistics scenes.
