The Lemke Collection Magirus MK 130M8 with case body “Fire Brigade Oil Response” (item LC4809) is a finely detailed N scale collector model representing a classic German fire brigade support vehicle configured for oil spill and environmental response duties. Finished in traditional fire service livery, this model captures a specialist logistics truck used for transporting equipment and materials to hazardous incident sites.

Part of the Lemke “miNis” range, this model is ideal for adding authentic 1970s–1990s emergency service realism to N scale layouts and dioramas.

Historical Background

The Magirus-Deutz MK 130M8 belongs to the “Vierer-Club” generation of European trucks introduced in 1975, a collaborative project between Magirus-Deutz, DAF, Volvo, and Saviem (Renault). The aim was to standardise components and reduce production costs across manufacturers while allowing each brand to retain its own engines and styling.

These medium-duty trucks, typically rated around 8 tonnes, became widely used across Europe due to their robust construction and reliable air-cooled diesel engines.

Fire brigades and municipal services quickly adopted the MK series for support roles, including equipment transport, hazardous material response, and oil spill intervention units.
