Model Details
The Renault JN75 Koffer “Neutral” by Lemke Collection is a finely detailed 1:160 scale N gauge commercial truck model representing one of the most versatile medium-duty transport vehicles used across Europe during the 1970s and 1980s. This realistic miniature captures the classic Renault cab-over-engine design paired with a box-body (“Koffer”) freight configuration, making it an essential addition for collectors of vintage logistics vehicles and model railway freight scenes.
Designed for N gauge layouts, industrial dioramas, and European truck collections, the Renault JN75 Koffer combines accurate proportions, crisp detailing, and a practical cargo body that reflects real-world distribution and parcel transport operations. The neutral livery version offers maximum flexibility for custom freight companies, warehouse depots, and period-correct transport scenes.
The Renault JN series formed part of the influential European “Vierer-Club” (“Club of Four”) cooperation introduced in 1975. This landmark collaboration between Renault (Saviem), Magirus-Deutz, Volvo, and DAF standardised major cab and chassis components while allowing each manufacturer to retain its own engines and styling identity, helping modernise medium-duty truck production across Europe.

Historical Background
The Renault JN75 was developed during a major transformation period in European commercial vehicle design, when manufacturers were shifting toward more efficient, standardised, and cost-effective truck platforms. Introduced in the mid-1970s, it was designed for regional freight distribution, municipal services, and general cargo transport.
As part of the “Club of Four” programme, Renault shared key engineering elements with DAF, Volvo, and Magirus-Deutz. This cooperation reduced production costs and improved standardisation while still allowing each brand to maintain distinct styling and drivetrain characteristics.
The box-body “Koffer” versions were widely used across Europe for secure transport of goods such as parcels, furniture, and palletised freight. Their enclosed design made them especially important for urban logistics and regional delivery networks during the growth of modern road haulage systems.
