The Lemke Collection Fiat 128 “Polizia” (item LC61513) is a finely detailed N scale collector model representing a classic Italian police patrol vehicle used by the Polizia di Stato. Finished in the traditional blue and white livery with period-correct emergency markings, this model captures one of the most recognisable compact patrol cars of Italy’s late 20th-century law enforcement fleet.

Historical Background

The Fiat 128, introduced in 1969, was a groundbreaking vehicle in automotive history as Fiat’s first mass-produced front-wheel-drive passenger car. It gained widespread acclaim for its innovative engineering, practicality, and efficient use of space, and was awarded European Car of the Year in 1970.

Thanks to its compact size, reliability, and low running costs, the Fiat 128 was widely adopted by Italian public services, including police forces. The Polizia di Stato used it extensively during the 1970s and 1980s as a light urban patrol and response vehicle, particularly suited to narrow streets, historic city centres, and routine patrol duties.
