Bachmann Announce New E Class and J71 Tank Locomotives

 

As part of their announcements commemorating "The Greatest Gathering", Bachmann have turned their attention to the NER E Class (later reclassified as the LNER J71), the predecessor to the better-known J72. Bachmann has long modelled the J72 in their Branchline range. While sharing a family resemblance with the J71s, Bachmann has created all-new tooling to faithfully capture the distinctive details that set the E Class apart from its younger sibling.

 

Among the models in our launch range is LNER No. 317, which famously took part in the 1925 centenary celebrations of the Stockton & Darlington Railway. This historic J71 was featured in the grand cavalcade, proudly hauling LNER Electric Locomotive No. 9.
