Coming Soon from Hobbytrain: Container Wagons

Lemke are set to deliver a superb new selection of N Scale container wagons into their Hobbytrain range in the coming weeks, introducing the modern Sggnss 80’ and the long-serving Sgjkkmms 699 to their expanding freight range. Perfect for recreating contemporary intermodal operations, these highly detailed wagons capture the look of real European container traffic from the 1980s right through to the present day, making them ideal additions for both modern freight layouts and collectors of international rolling stock.

The new Sggnss 80’ wagons represent one of the first designs capable of carrying containers with a combined length of 80 feet on a single four-axle articulated wagon, a type commonly seen operating in lengthy block container trains across Europe today. Alongside these, the Sgjkkmms 699 wagons recreate an important class of Deutsche Bahn container carriers first introduced during the 1980s, with many examples remaining in DB Cargo service well into the 2000s.

Lemke have also carefully reflected real-world operational changes with the supplied containers. Due to licensing restrictions, the originally announced MAERSK and Hamburg Süd liveries could not be produced, so the models instead feature realistically weathered and overpainted neutral containers, accurately representing former branded containers after resale and repainting in everyday freight service.
