Dapol’s March and April releases deliver a substantial wave of modern image diesel and electric traction, giving N Scale modellers a wide spread of eras from late BR through to the present day. Leading the programme is an extensive selection of Class 66 locomotives covering the major contemporary operators: DB, EWS, Freightliner, GBRf, DRS and Colas — including named and commemorative machines such as Nene Valley, Evening Star and the striking Platinum Jubilee pink livery. Most examples are offered in multiple formats, with standard DC, DCC-fitted and factory sound versions available to suit layouts of every level.
Complementing these are strong classic favourites, with the ever-popular Class 33 appearing in BR Blue, DRS and Fragonset finishes, while a broad run of Class 87 electrics spans BR blue heritage, InterCity, Virgin, Caledonian Sleeper and departmental eras, even including a BR twin-pack for main line operation. Together, the releases provide an ideal mix of preserved, transitional and modern main line traction, allowing modellers to authentically recreate everything from 1970s cross-country workings to present-day heavy freight operations straight from the box.
