The Gaugemaster Collection features carefully curated locomotives, coaches, or wagons that we’re confident will be popular among hobbyists but are often overlooked by manufacturers. We work with leading model brands, including Dapol, Heljan, Piko, Minitrix, Kato, and others, to bring these items to market, with the Collection available directly from ourselves or via our dealer network.
This month, we have updates on several forthcoming models, including the exciting news that we are expecting some releases in the coming few weeks.
N Scale Updates
Class 73 Samples Revealed
This week, we have received the first samples of the next batch of Class 73s from Dapol, our project partner. Once approved or changes are agreed upon, they will move into production. This brings the project to the exciting next step, bringing us closer to realising these iconic locomotives.
OO Scale Updates
Class 26 – Due Imminently
The British Rail Class 26 diesel locomotives, also known as the BRCW Type 2, were built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company (BRCW) at Smethwick in 1958-59. We have worked with Heljan to produce this Weathered locomotive with the Railfreight Red Stripe livery featuring the Westie Logo.
Class 47 – Due Soon
Also due in the first quarter of this year are our next Class 47s. As before, we have worked with Heljan to bring these models to market and feature the DRS liveried 47 501 'Craftsman' and 47 600 Dewi Sant/Saint David in Railfreight Distribution livery. The Class 47s were used across the whole British Rail network in both passenger and freight roles. Most 47s were built with steam heating, which was later replaced with electric.
