Hornby Announce New Merchant Navy: 21C1 Channel Packet

Hornby have just announced a stunning high-detail OO gauge model of the iconic Merchant Navy Class 21C1 'Channel Packet'. The first of its kind, this historic locomotive entered service in 1941 and later became BR No. 35001. Recreated with extensive research and original works drawings, the model features the original streamlined front and a 5000-gallon tender in its pre-modified form.

Equipped with a pre-fitted HM7000 decoder and speaker, it offers synchronised DCC sound and cold water-based steam effects. A high-fidelity sound profile, accurate chuff rate, and adjustable steam output bring Bulleid’s powerful design to life.
