Locomotives and Rolling Stock
The Pocket Line locomotives and train packs are full of personality, offering a distinctive blend of playful design and practical performance. From the nostalgic, retro-inspired steam locomotive to the characterful electric freight set and the sleek two-car tram, each model is thoughtfully detailed and built to run smoothly in compact spaces. Additionally, two steeple cab locomotives are featured: one in Kato USA Orange livery and the other in BR Black, found exclusively in the Gaugemaster Collection.
Getting Started
Getting started with Kato Pocketline is easy, as the range has been designed with budget and space in mind. The locomotives and train packs are designed to run on the Kato Compact range of track, with radii as little as 150mm, making them the ultimate N Scale space-savers. Kato offers the ideal package to get started in the form of the Mini Oval Track Set, which comes complete with an oval of compact track and the USB-powered Pocketline controller. Also in the range are the CV1 and CV3 packs, which feature the tight, compact track in either an oval or a figure-of-eight, respectively, allowing the user to connect a Pocketline Controller or upgrade to the standard Kato SX Controller and powerpack.
Expansion and More
When it comes to expanding your layout, the possibilities are endless. Kato offers packs of the compact curves in both radii, as well as point work available individually or as part of the CV2 pack. The keen observer will notice there are no straight sections featured, and that's simply because the Compact range of track is fully capable of connecting to all the rest of the track in the main Kato Unitrack range. The Compact range is also featured in the Kato Mini Circus diorama Packs, which are perfect for inspiring creativity in modellers of all ages. These dioramas are then fitted together at shows and events around the world, and they all start with a Mini Diorama Base.
