Main Lines: 16th August 2025
Welcome to this week's Main Lines.
In the past week, southern England rail services have been disrupted as shrinking clay embankments forced speed limits and repairs. Labour confirmed plans to revive Northern Powerhouse Rail, potentially restoring the Manchester HS2 leg, while Virgin signed a £700 million deal for 12 high-speed trains to compete with Eurostar by 2030. The Elizabeth line, now carrying one in seven UK rail journeys, will increase Saturday central-London services to 20 trains per hour from December, and the £160 million Beaulieu Park Station in Chelmsford is nearing completion, the first new Great Eastern Main Line station in over 100 years. For model railway news, we are a bit light this week with only two of our own announcements: a brand new track cleaning wagon, and new TT Scale buffer stops and lights.
New TT Scale Buffer Stops and Lights

New buffer stops are now available.
To enhance our range of TT Scale models, we have sourced a selection of items to add to our Gaugemaster family of products.

A new battery-powered alternative.
Track cleaning is a vital part of the model railway hobby, and to help keep things running, we have produced (with help from Tomix) a battery-powered track cleaner with a variety of different attachments and operational uses.
New Arrivals Into Stock This Week

Check out the new items that have arrived into stock since the last Main Lines update. The list might be a bit long, but it's packed with exciting finds we think you'll love.
End Of The Line
That's the end of the line for this week. We will be back next week with another packed edition of Main Lines.
Until then, Happy Modelling
