Main Lines: 4th October 2025
Welcome to this week's Main Lines.
Over the past week, the biggest railway-related story has been the British Transport Police’s new policy, effectively cutting back investigations into bike thefts at stations. BTP says it will no longer look into thefts of bicycles left unattended for more than two hours, nor assess CCTV footage beyond that window, and it won’t pursue cases involving bikes valued under about £200. Critics warn that this amounts to decriminalising many common commuter bike thefts, and some victims say their bikes were stolen from CCTV-covered racks and still not investigated.
Model Railway news has been more positive, with a whole host of announcements from many of the Continental manufacturers. The Likes of Faller, Noch, Marklin, Roco, and Fleischmann have all announced their new items for Autumn.
