Historical Background

The Duple Commander was one of the most recognisable British coach bodies of the 1980s, developed by Duple Coachbuilders during a major period of change in UK coach travel. Introduced in 1984, the Commander was designed as a premium high-capacity coach body for long-distance express services and private hire operators, combining modern styling with improved passenger comfort.
