Based on a unique conversion from a former quarrymen’s carriage, this vehicle reflects the practical engineering and heritage evolution of the Ffestiniog Railway’s historic fleet in North Wales.

The prototype began life as a quarrymen’s carriage before being rebuilt into a brake van for operational use. In preservation, it was previously seen from around 2009 in green livery (also available as GR590A). Later, in 2018, it was repainted into the traditional brown livery matching the quarrymen’s carriages, which is the condition represented by this model.

This highly characterful brake van is ideal for recreating authentic Ffestiniog Railway freight and mixed train formations, adding operational realism and historical depth to any narrow-gauge scene.
