Details:

The March 701 was March Engineering’s first Formula 1 car, introduced in 1970. Known for its boxy, simple design and stiff chassis, it quickly became competitive despite limited development time. At the 1970 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, several 701s appeared on the grid, driven by March works drivers and privateers. The car featured a 3.0-litre Ford Cosworth DFV V8 engine, producing around 400 hp, and rear-wheel drive through a Hewland gearbox. Lightweight and nimble, the March 701 was notable for its ability to handle high-speed corners and tight circuits, marking an important chapter in March’s early F1 history.
