Maintenance and upgrades are straightforward thanks to a removable body secured by four easily accessible screws. This design provides quick access to the 6-pin DCC socket, making decoder installation or servicing simple and convenient.

To enhance modelling flexibility, every locomotive is supplied with a comprehensive detail pack. This includes a wide selection of finely moulded, easy-to-fit parts, allowing you to personalise your model to suit your preferred era or industrial setting. Historical Background

Celebrate classic British industrial motive power with this detailed model of a Peckett “Cranmore Class” saddle tank locomotive. Built by Peckett & Sons, renowned for their robust industrial engines, these locomotives combined proven design with bespoke features for specialist customers.

Works No.1030, constructed in 1904 for the Mendip Granite & Asphalt Co., was a 2ft gauge 0-4-0 saddle tank based on the Class 7in design. Originally named Cranmore, it featured an open cab and 7 x 10-inch cylinders. Before delivery, it was modified with an enclosed cab, renamed Gamecock, and repainted into Peckett’s standard green livery. The design became permanently known as the Cranmore Class.

Operating from Cranmore near Shepton Mallet, with access to the Great Western Railway network, it played a vital role in quarry traffic. Exported variants followed, with one preserved example surviving today at the Puffing Billy Railway, highlighting the class’s lasting legacy.
