Inspired by the many variations of the Kerr, Stuart & Co. Sirdar Class, our newly developed 009 Gauge “What If” Short-Tank Sirdar Class 0-4-0 brings together authentic design elements from several prototypes to create a model that is both unique and prototypically plausible.

The original Sirdar Class locomotives were built with different cab styles and both long and short tanks, and this model reflects that heritage while adding carefully considered enhancements. The newly tooled body is designed to fit perfectly onto our existing Kerr Stuart Sirdar chassis. It features slightly extended side tanks compared with the real short-tank versions once seen in service worldwide, paired with a larger enclosed cab inspired by other Kerr, Stuart & Co. designs.

The result is a highly detailed and versatile locomotive, ideal for adding character to any 009 narrow gauge railway layout, whether used on heritage-inspired branch lines or imagined industrial settings.
