Rapido Trains UK proudly expands its celebrated pre-grouping range with the first-ever ready-to-run OO gauge model of the iconic LNWR Dia.17B Brake Van – affectionately known as the ‘Crystal Palace’ Brake.

Introduced in 1917 by the London and North Western Railway, over 500 of these versatile 20-ton brake vans were produced. Designed with practicality in mind, the Dia.17B featured a distinctive doored veranda with large end windows and signature ogees for improved visibility – perfect for guards working in all weather conditions.

This highly detailed model includes fine brake gear, running boards, lamp irons, chimney, and separate interior details such as a guard’s desk, stove, and pigeonholes. This model features metal bearings for smooth running and NEM coupler pockets. Personalisation is easy with included detail parts and optional lamps.
