Historical Background

The Gloster Meteor became the Allies' first operational jet fighter when it entered Royal Air Force service during the closing stages of the Second World War. Although its wartime role was primarily intercepting German V-1 flying bombs, the aircraft laid the foundations for Britain's transition into the jet age.

Introduced in 1950, the Meteor F.8 was the ultimate fighter variant, featuring a lengthened fuselage, redesigned tail unit, improved cockpit with an ejector seat, strengthened airframe, and enhanced flying characteristics.
