History:

The Mercedes-Benz SSKL is a high-performance variant of the iconic SSK (Super-Sport Kurz) sports car, produced in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The “L” stands for Leicht (light), reflecting its reduced weight through aluminium body panels and stripped-down components to improve performance. Powered by a supercharged 7.1-litre inline-six engine, the SSKL produced up to 300 hp, enabling top speeds exceeding 220 km/h exceptional for its era. Its short wheelbase and light construction made it highly agile, ideal for racing. Only a handful were built, making it one of the rarest and most sought-after pre-war Mercedes racing cars.
