The atomically powered Enterprise is the first aircraft carrier of its kind and is one of the largest ship ever built.

On 25.11.1961 this gigantic aircraft carrier was put into service. Eight water-cooled reactors produce a total output of 300,000 horsepower, with which the ship reaches an average speed of 35 knots. The water displacement is 75,700 tonnes and the flight deck has a width of 76.8 meters. 414 officers and 4,260 crew members are on average on board.

Since the enterprise by the nuclear engine of external supply is independent, large fuel depots for the on-board aircraft are available. The largest and most modern aircraft in the US Navy can be deployed from the Enterprise.
