KWStE Express Train Coach Set (5) I

In the second half of the 19th century, the KWSt.E. was in every respect one of the most modern railways in Europe. The decision to use the American system of “bogie intercommunications carriages” was only used by a few railways in Europe at the time. The climax and conclusion of this development were the Württemberg express train carriages in the form that were built by the Esslingen machine factory from 1909 onwards. The standardization and strict standardization of the components were the most important features of these carriages. Express train carriages were used on the Stuttgart-Zurich and Friedrichshafen-Cologne routes, and for a while also on the Stuttgart-Nancy routes. As through coaches they travelled throughout Germany and half of Europe.
