Details

The design of these traditional compartment carriages can be traced back to the early development of the railway network. The “pr 11” type represents one of the final Prussian compartment coach designs to feature a clerestory roof, while also becoming one of the most widely produced passenger carriage types in Germany. Built in both three-axle and two-axle versions, the coaches were manufactured with or without a brakeman’s cab, offering flexible configurations for a variety of passenger services. This combination of historic design and extensive use makes the pr 11 series a significant and recognisable part of German railway heritage.
