Details

The Pt 2/3 class light tank locomotive was a distinctive example of Bavarian passenger steam engines. Characterised by its slender boiler, the unusually long distance of 4,000 mm between the running axle and coupled wheels, and a generously sized driver’s cab, it also featured a rear door allowing the stoker to board the train and assist as conductor. Introduced by the Bavarian State Railway between 1909 and 1916, all locomotives of type 1 B h2 were built by Krauss in Munich and capable of a top speed of 65 km/h. This model faithfully represents the technical elegance and historical significance of this remarkable early 20th-century locomotive.
