DR BR94 1670 Steam Locomotive IV (DCC-Sound)

The T 16.1 (later BR 94.5) was a freight train tender locomotive of the Royal Prussian State Railway. A total of 1,236 locomotives of this series were built, including repeat orders from the German Reichsbahn between 1913 and 1924. Due to their performance, the locomotives of this series were not only found on branch lines and in shunting service, but could also replace the cost-intensive rack and pinion operation on steep sections in friction operation. For use on steep sections, e.g. In some areas, such as the Thuringian Forest, the locomotives were fitted with a Riggenbach type counter-pressure brake, the main components of which were located on the right-hand side of the smokebox.
