DB BR111 087 Electric Locomotive IV (DCC-Sound)

Based on proven parts from the 110 series, the 111 series was designed as an express train locomotive. The designers were particularly keen to improve smooth running at high speeds by using new bogies and to improve working conditions for the train drivers. Between 1974 and 1984, a total of 227 locomotives were purchased by the DB. The 111 series benefits from its technical diversity. The areas of application for this series range from fast IC to slow freight train traffic.
