The 1982 24 Hours of Le Mans marked a highly competitive era of endurance racing dominated by Group C prototypes, with the striking BMW M1 representing one of the most distinctive GT entries on the grid. Entered by private teams supported by BMW M, the BMW M1 competed in its racing specification derived from the Procar and Group 4/Group 5 development program, bringing German engineering precision to the legendary Circuit de la Sarthe.
