Renault 5 Turbo Rally (1:24 Scale)

The Renault 5 Turbo, introduced in 1980, was a high-performance variant of the Renault 5 hatchback, engineered for rallying. Unlike the standard front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, the Turbo featured a mid-mounted 1.4L turbocharged inline-four engine producing 160 PS, driving the rear wheels. This configuration, combined with a lightweight chassis and distinctive wide-body design by Marc Deschamps at Bertone, delivered exceptional handling and performance. The car achieved notable success in rallying, including a victory at the 1981 Monte Carlo Rally with driver Jean Ragnotti. Production totaled 4,987 units, encompassing both the original Turbo and the later Turbo 2 models.
