US M5A1 Stuart Light Tank (1:48 Scale)

The M5A1 Stuart was a U.S. light tank developed during World War II as an evolution of the M3 Stuart. Introduced in 1942, it featured twin Cadillac V8 engines with Hydra-Matic transmissions, offering improved reliability and simplified crew training. The redesigned hull included sloped armor and relocated driver's hatches, enhancing protection and ergonomics. Armed with a 37 mm M6 gun and .30 caliber machine guns, it was effective in reconnaissance and infantry support roles. While its light armament limited its effectiveness against heavier tanks in Europe, it performed well in the Pacific Theater against less armored Japanese forces. A total of 6,810 M5A1 units were produced.
