The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is an ultra-exclusive limited-edition supercar created by Nissan in collaboration with Italian design house Italdesign to celebrate the 50th anniversaries of both the GT-R and Italdesign. Based on the 2018 Nissan GT-R NISMO, this bespoke performance car takes the legendary GT-R platform and elevates it with striking styling, enhanced engineering and bespoke craftsmanship.

Unveiled as a concept in 2018 and moved into limited production, just 50 units of the GT-R50 were built by Italdesign in Turin, Italy, with deliveries beginning in late 2020 and early 2021. Each car features a dramatically redesigned aluminium and carbon-fibre bodyshell with a lowered roofline, wider track, distinctive “samurai blade” vents and bespoke styling cues that distinguish it from the standard GT-R. These design changes were undertaken to create a more powerful, muscular and bespoke aesthetic, reflecting both Italian design flair and Japanese performance heritage.

Under the bonnet, the GT-R50’s hand-assembled 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 engine has been extensively reworked by Nissan and NISMO specialists to produce around 720 PS (roughly 710–720 hp) and substantial torque, making it one of the most powerful versions of the R35 GT-R family. Upgrades include reinforced internals, larger turbochargers, high-flow cooling, strengthened gearbox components and performance suspension and brakes, ensuring the GT-R50 delivers thrilling acceleration and dynamic prowess.

For model collectors, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is a highly prized subject due to its limited production, bold design, and fusion of Japanese engineering with Italian craftsmanship.
