Based on the iconic three-axle Magirus-Deutz KHD Jupiter FlKfz 3800/400, this highly detailed functional model recreates one of Germany's most recognisable fire-fighting vehicles. Complete with a rotating roof beacon and authentic Bachert fire-fighting equipment, it is ideal for fire stations, emergency response scenes, industrial complexes, and historic town layouts.

As part of the innovative CarMotion range, this model features advanced infrared-controlled operation, realistic driving characteristics, and a comprehensive lighting package. The underfloor drive system preserves the model's detailed appearance while delivering smooth and reliable operation on your layout. Whether responding to an emergency or displayed at a fire station, this vehicle adds movement, realism, and operational interest to any HO scale scene.

The model is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery providing approximately 4–6 hours of operation under normal running conditions. Additional functions include cab lighting, brake lights, reversing lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, dipped and main beam headlights, and a visible driver figure. A 5-pole plug-in coupling allows connection to compatible CarMotion trailers and semi-trailers. Easy magnetic switching via a reed contact enables convenient operation, while infrared remote-control functionality allows precise manoeuvring, including short-distance reversing without mechanical guidance. An optional sound upgrade is available using retrofit sound module 8452.

Historical Background

The prototype is the Magirus-Deutz KHD Jupiter FlKfz 3800/400, a heavy three-axle fire-fighting vehicle powered by a V8 diesel engine producing 169 kW (230 hp). Equipped with a Bachert FPH 16/85 fire pump delivering 2,400 litres per minute and carrying 3,800 litres of water plus 400 litres of foam concentrate, it was designed for demanding fire and rescue operations, including off-road deployment with a gross vehicle weight of 26 tonnes.
