Add a distinctive military emergency vehicle to your HO scale model railway with the Viessmann 8065 CarMotion Magirus Deutz 3-Axle Fire Engine. Based on the legendary Magirus-Deutz Jupiter fire-fighting vehicle, this highly detailed functional model is finished in military livery and equipped with a rotating warning beacon, making it ideal for military bases, airfields, training grounds, industrial complexes, and emergency response scenes.

Part of the innovative CarMotion range, this model combines authentic detailing with advanced infrared-controlled operation. The powerful underfloor drive system delivers smooth, realistic vehicle movement while preserving the model's highly detailed appearance. Featuring realistic acceleration and braking characteristics, configurable speed settings, and comprehensive lighting functions, this vehicle brings operational realism and dynamic road traffic to any modern or historic HO scale layout.

The model is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery providing approximately 4–6 hours of operation under normal running conditions and up to 2 hours at maximum speed. Additional functions include cab lighting, brake lights, reversing lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, dipped and main beam headlights, and a detailed visible cab interior with driver figure. A 5-pole plug-in coupling allows connection to compatible CarMotion trailers and semi-trailers. The vehicle can be controlled using infrared signals, magnetic tape systems, contact wire guidance, permanent magnets, electromagnetic stop coils, and the CarMotion remote control. An optional sound upgrade is available using sound module 8452. The model is also suitable for transport on the Märklin heavy-duty flat wagon 48740.

Historical Background

The prototype is the Magirus-Deutz KHD Jupiter 3-axle fire engine, equipped with a Bachert fire pump capable of delivering 2,400 litres per minute and carrying 3,800 litres of water plus 400 litres of foam concentrate. Powered by a V8 diesel engine producing 169 kW (230 hp), these rugged off-road fire-fighting vehicles were widely used for military and specialist emergency service applications, making them an excellent addition to HO scale military and emergency response layouts.
