Combining the classic Magirus Deutz square-bonnet lorry with a detailed FUCHS F301 H hydraulic excavator body, this highly detailed functional model is perfect for construction sites, roadworks, infrastructure projects, railway maintenance depots, and industrial layouts. The distinctive excavator superstructure makes it a standout vehicle for creating realistic working scenes alongside your railway operations.

Part of the innovative CarMotion range, this model features advanced infrared-controlled operation, realistic driving characteristics, and smooth vehicle movement. The underfloor drive system preserves the model's scale appearance while delivering reliable performance. Based on the Magirus Deutz 230 D 16 prototype with a FUCHS F301 H excavator attachment, it accurately recreates a versatile construction vehicle widely used throughout the 1960s and beyond.

The model is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery providing approximately 4–6 hours of operation during normal running conditions and around 2 hours at maximum speed. Additional functions include cab lighting, brake lights, reversing lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, dipped and main beam headlights, and a visible driver figure. A 5-pole plug-in coupling allows connection to compatible CarMotion trailers and semi-trailers. The vehicle can be controlled via infrared signals, magnetic tape guidance, contact wire systems, permanent magnets, electromagnetic stop coils, and the CarMotion remote control. Convenient magnetic reed-switch operation enables easy switching on and off, while short-distance reversing is possible without mechanical guidance. An optional sound upgrade is available using sound module 8450. The prototype excavator was equipped with a 700 mm bucket and a 570 mm grab, making it a highly versatile machine for construction and excavation work.
