Based on the iconic Mercedes-Benz round-bonnet truck, this highly detailed functional model captures the character of one of Europe's most recognisable heavy goods vehicles. Perfect for freight terminals, industrial estates, distribution centres, and road-to-rail logistics operations, it adds realistic commercial vehicle traffic to layouts from the 1960s through to the 1980s.

Part of the innovative CarMotion range, this model combines advanced infrared-controlled operation with realistic driving characteristics and smooth vehicle movement. The underfloor drive system preserves the model's authentic appearance while delivering reliable performance. With configurable speed settings, realistic acceleration and braking behaviour, and compatibility with CarMotion trailers and semi-trailers, this Mercedes-Benz tractor unit is ideal for creating authentic freight transport scenes on any HO scale layout.

The model is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery providing approximately 4–6 hours of operation under normal running conditions and around 2 hours at maximum speed. Additional functions include cab lighting, brake lights, reversing lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, dipped and main beam headlights, and a detailed driver figure visible through the cab. A 5-pole plug-in coupling allows connection to compatible CarMotion trailers and semi-trailers. The vehicle is compatible with magnetic tape guidance, contact wire systems, permanent magnets, electromagnetic stop coils, infrared control, and the CarMotion remote-control system. Convenient magnetic reed-switch operation enables easy switching on and off, while short-distance reversing is possible without mechanical guidance. An optional sound upgrade is available using sound module 8454.
