Add rugged military road transport to your HO scale model railway with the Viessmann 8161 CarMotion Mercedes-Benz Round Bonnet 2-Axle Tipper Truck. Based on the classic Mercedes-Benz short bonnet lorry, this highly detailed functional model is finished in military livery and fitted with a practical tipper body, making it ideal for military depots, engineering units, field operations, supply convoys, airfields, and infrastructure maintenance scenes.

Part of the advanced CarMotion system, this self-propelled model combines realistic driving behaviour with infrared-controlled operation for highly authentic road movement on your layout. The underfloor drive system keeps the vehicle’s appearance clean and realistic while ensuring smooth, reliable operation. With configurable speed control, realistic acceleration and braking, and full lighting functionality, this vehicle brings dynamic road traffic to both modern and historic HO scale military layouts.

The model is equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery providing approximately 4–6 hours of operation under normal conditions and around 2 hours at maximum speed. It features a comprehensive lighting package including headlights (low and high beam), brake lights, reversing lights, indicators, hazard warning lights, and cab interior lighting. A detailed driver figure is included. The vehicle is compatible with magnetic tape guidance, contact wire systems, permanent magnets, electromagnetic stop coils, infrared control, and the CarMotion remote system. A reed-contact magnetic switch allows easy on/off operation, while short-distance reversing is also possible without mechanical guidance. An optional sound upgrade is available using sound module 8452.
