Add authentic engine sound and operating effects to your HO scale model railway vehicles with the Viessmann 8453 CarMotion Sound Retrofit Kit. Designed specifically for black Mercedes-Benz round bonnet CarMotion models, this vehicle-specific upgrade delivers realistic diesel engine sounds and operational audio effects, bringing an extra level of realism to road traffic scenes, industrial layouts, construction sites, and logistics operations. The module is mechanically, visually, and acoustically tailored to compatible Mercedes-Benz round bonnet vehicles for seamless integration.

The sound module reproduces realistic engine start-up and shutdown sounds, acceleration and driving noises, gear changes, brake squeal, and vehicle-specific warning signals where applicable. Additional functions such as the horn and siren (on suitable vehicles) can also be activated. Volume levels are adjustable, and sound functions can be controlled via remote control, DCC commands, infrared commands, or magnetic sequences within the CarMotion system.

The sound module connects directly to the vehicle electronics using a 4-pin expansion socket and is secured in place with screws. Existing side-mounted components such as the exhaust and air tanks are replaced with new parts containing the integrated loudspeaker. The module delivers 250 mW output power, 81 dBA efficiency, and a frequency range of approximately 800 Hz to 10 kHz for clear and realistic sound reproduction. Compatible vehicles include items 8017, 8022, 8034, 8035, 8052, and 8072. Vehicles without the required 4-pin expansion socket cannot be fitted with this sound module.
