Bring your HO scale CarMotion vehicles to life with the Viessmann 8454 Sound Retrofit Kit, specifically designed for Mercedes-Benz round bonnet vehicles in red-brown livery. This vehicle-specific sound module adds authentic engine and operational sounds, creating a far more immersive driving experience on model railway layouts. Perfect for freight operations, agricultural transport, industrial scenes, and classic road haulage settings, the module is mechanically, visually, and acoustically matched to compatible Mercedes-Benz round bonnet models.

The sound module reproduces realistic engine start-up and shutdown sounds, acceleration and driving noises, gear changes, brake squeal, and reversing warning signals where applicable. Additional functions such as the horn and siren can also be activated on compatible vehicles. Volume levels are fully adjustable, while sound functions can be controlled via remote control, DCC commands, infrared commands, or magnetic sequences within the CarMotion system.

The sound module connects directly to the vehicle electronics using a 4-pin expansion socket and is secured with the supplied fixings. Existing side-mounted components such as the exhaust and air tanks are replaced with new parts containing the integrated loudspeaker. The module delivers 250 mW output power, 81 dBA efficiency, and a frequency range of approximately 800 Hz to 10 kHz for clear and realistic sound reproduction. Compatible CarMotion vehicles include items 8003, 8016, 8020, 8036, and 8155. Vehicles without the required 4-pin expansion socket cannot be fitted with this sound module.
