The Lloyd LT 500 box van symbolises the Borgward era up to its final days. WIKING proudly introduces the Lloyd LT from new moulds, perfectly complementing their series of iconic vehicles from the Economic Miracle period. This model fits seamlessly alongside classics like the VW T1 and Ford FK 1000. The “big” Lloyd was produced both as a passenger van and a versatile transporter. Early versions featured plywood panel bodies, with steel plating introduced in the latter half of the 1950s at the Bremen production plant. The original’s motorisation was modest: from 1952 to 1955, the Lloyd LT 500 was powered by a two-cylinder, two-stroke 386 cm³ engine producing 13 hp, followed by the Lloyd LT 600 with a two-cylinder, four-stroke 596 cm³ engine delivering 19 hp. Before Borgward’s bankruptcy in 1961, 9,900 Lloyd LT 500s and 14,768 LT 600s were manufactured, making this transporter a significant part of post-war German automotive history.
