Historical Background

The Faun F610 series became one of the most respected heavy haulage tractors produced in post-war West Germany. Built by the Faun-Werke in Nürnberg, these specialist vehicles were engineered specifically for extreme transport duties involving industrial machinery, transformers, railway equipment, and oversized construction loads.

Produced between the mid-1960s and 1970s, the F610 range featured powerful air-cooled Deutz V10 diesel engines producing between approximately 250 and 275 horsepower, enabling the trucks to haul loads of up to 80 tonnes. Their robust engineering and long-wheelbase construction made them especially effective for infrastructure and heavy industrial transport.

The distinctive bonneted styling of the Faun heavy tractor gave it a commanding road presence unlike most European cab-over-engine trucks of the era.
