Description
Ford Escort Quartz Grey 1968-74
The Ford Escort Quartz Grey offered a timeless alternative to the vibrant Flower Power colours of the 1960s. This classic grey five-door limousine combined understated style with impressive performance. Developed by British Ford engineers, the Escort Mark I—nicknamed the “Dog Bone” for its distinctive radiator grille—was first produced in November 1967 at Halewood and quickly became a bestseller, surpassing sales expectations by 30% within two months. In Germany, production began in Saarlouis in January 1970, continuing successfully until 1974.
