The Atlas N Scale Turntable Motor Drive Unit is an optional upgrade designed to motorise the Atlas N Scale Turntable, transforming it from a manually operated feature into a smooth, electrically powered and remotely controllable depot turntable. It is intended specifically for use with the Atlas N Scale Turntable system and provides reliable rotation for realistic locomotive servicing operations.

This motor drive unit fits neatly beneath the turntable assembly and uses a belt-driven DC motor system to rotate the bridge accurately between indexed positions. It maintains compatibility with the turntable’s built-in Geneva indexing mechanism, ensuring precise alignment at each of the 21 track positions without overshooting or drift.

The unit also includes a discreet housing structure that can be modelled as a small machinery shed or service hut, helping it blend naturally into engine depot scenery. Installation is straightforward, making it a popular upgrade for modellers who want to enhance operational realism without complex modification work.

Once installed, the motor drive allows controlled rotation of locomotives on the turntable either via a simple electrical switch or integration into a more advanced control system, depending on layout wiring preferences.
