Ratio is a distinguished brand in the model railway community, renowned for its extensive range of plastic model kits that enhance the realism of model railway layouts. Established in 1950 by Jack and Dev Webster in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, the company initially produced fine coach kits made from sheet plywood pressings. In 1959, Ratio transitioned to manufacturing plastic kits, leading to a rebranding as Ratio Plastic Models. Over the years, the company relocated multiple times — to Goring-on-Thames in 1961, Sturminster Newton in 1972, and Buckfastleigh in 1986 — to accommodate its growing operations. In 1996, Ratio was acquired by PECO, and production now takes place at PECO's facility in Buckfastleigh, alongside the Wills and Parkside ranges.

Lineside/Scenic Kits:Â

Signals:
Ratio provides a variety of signal kits, such as the SR Rail Built Signal Kit (Catalogue No. 493), which allows for the replication of Southern Railway rail-built signals and the LNWR Square Post Signal (Catalogue No. 477). ​
Wagon, Van, and Underframe Kits:
For rolling stock enthusiasts, Ratio offers kits like the MR 10ft Coach Bogies and Wheels (Catalogue No. 107) and the LNWR 8ft Coach Bogies and Wheels (Catalogue No. 108). ​
These kits are primarily available in OO scale (1:76), with selected models also offered in N scale (1:148).
