Historical Background

Built during the 1950s for RAF Fauld, the Hudson steel-bodied bogie wagons were developed for demanding industrial duties where strength, reliability and flexibility were essential. Their robust design allowed them to carry a variety of loads, including coal, scrap and permanent way materials, making them valuable assets on industrial railways and later on preserved narrow gauge lines.

Following their military service, examples of these wagons were acquired by preserved railways including the Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland Railway, where they continued to be used for engineering and general traffic. The distinctive Hudson bogie design became an important feature of these vehicles, and this kit allows modellers to recreate their appearance or use the components as the basis for their own narrow gauge creations.
