Main Lines: 20th December 2025

Welcome to this week's Main Lines, and the last for 2025.

This year has been a busy one for us here at Gaugemaster. Last year, we celebrated our 50th anniversary, reflecting on the hobby's previous half-century and the progress we have made. This included the release of our brand new Control System, Gaugemaster Infinity, during the August celebration events. This set the tone for the start of 2025, with Infinity as the focus and the latest features of the system showcased at the London Festival of Railway Modelling, where we were pleased to meet and speak with everyone face-to-face.

Our attention then turned to one of our other most significant projects in recent years: launching our new website. As with any big project, it came with a few technical issues, but with dedicated partners working alongside us, these were soon resolved, and the result is a cleaner, faster, and more informative site than ever before. That said, we did not stop there. We re-launched Main Lines into this new format, along with launching the sister publications Kits and Bits, Pit Stop, and The Cabinet, and we are pleased to see everyone interacting so positively.

After the new website was launched, the next major project was undertaken: our shop refit. This redesign of the look and layout was spurred by our ever-growing offering to not only include many of the best model railway products in the world, but also to promote other modelling disciplines, such as Slot Cars, Collectables, and other general Modelling Materials. This culminated in the relaunch of our shop as Model Giant. Previously known as The Engine Shed, this new name encompasses all the model disciplines.

With the National Festival of Railway Modelling giving us the chance to again meet all of you, this time with the news of new, more powerful Infinity Systems for larger scales and G Scale Modellers, alongside demonstrations of these systems, our Static Grass system and the announcement of our New Figure Range, we had a lot to talk about. Sadly, as quickly as the show comes, it is soon over, and our attention then switches to Christmas and dispatching everyone's orders in the run-up to the festive season. This is always a busy time for any business, but one we take pride in, especially knowing some of these orders will be the start of lifelong hobbies.

And that brings us up to now. We want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the last year and hope you continue to do so in 2026. We have exciting projects in the pipeline that we can't wait to share with you, along with new website features that will further enhance your shopping and modelling experiences. 2026 already promises to be filled with more excitement, and of course, we can't wait to see all the new product announcements from our valued suppliers in the coming months. Until then, we leave you with the last Main Lines of 2025.
