Dapol Announce New N Gauge Blue Spot Fish Vans

Dapol’s latest N scale announcements shine a spotlight on one of British Rail’s most recognisable freight vehicles, with a new range of Blue Spot Fish Vans arriving in a variety of authentic liveries. This release captures the distinctive character of these insulated wagons, offering everything from the classic BR white with blue spot through to later finishes, including Rail Blue Express Parcels and Departmental yellow, giving modellers plenty of scope to recreate different eras and operating conditions.

Built between 1954 and 1961 at Faverdale Wagon Works, these vans were based on an LNER design and played a vital role in transporting fresh fish across the country, helping ports such as Grimsby thrive as major distribution hubs. Typically marshalled in lengthy rakes and hauled by express locomotives, they became a familiar sight on the network. With this latest selection, Dapol not only revisits traditional liveries but also introduces a broader range of variations, making these iconic wagons a versatile addition to any N-scale layout.
