The long-established Göppingen-based construction company Leonhard Weiss, a long-time partner of Märklin’s Model Railway Days and the inspiration behind several Märklin models, has recently expanded its rail fleet with the Euro9000, currently the most powerful locomotive operating on the European network. To mark this impressive addition, Märklin and Trix are introducing a model of the locomotive to their ranges.
The newly tooled dual-power Class 2019 locomotive, finished in Leonhard Weiss livery, will be offered exclusively by Märklin and Trix and showcases a host of modern features and finely executed detailing. Highlights include switchable shunting and special signals, buffer storage, four individually digitally controllable pantographs and numerous lighting functions. Just like the prototype—only recently entering service in January—this highly detailed metal model promises to be a powerful and eye-catching addition to model railway layouts.
