Main Lines: 21st June 2025
Welcome to this week's Main Lines.
Welcome to this week’s edition of Main Lines, where we bring together the latest updates from the world of model railways. National headlines have been dominated by renewed scrutiny of HS2, as the government confirmed further delays and a major overhaul of the troubled high-speed rail project. Meanwhile, a fresh £5 billion investment has been pledged for the East–West Rail route between Oxford and Cambridge, with further infrastructure funding on the horizon under the UK’s new long-term transport strategy.
Back on the modelling front, the past seven days have seen a flurry of exciting announcements. Fleischmann and Roco have detailed their latest European N and OO gauge releases, Kato’s June arrivals are now available, and Dapol has unveiled a new range of OO gauge containers. Bachmann also made headlines with a charity-focused locomotive, while Wiking and Piko continue to expand their lineups with nostalgic and detailed additions. As always, there’s plenty to explore—whether you're planning your next layout or just keeping up with the hobby.
